Adv.-St.-Sgt.-Maj. Adir Kadosh, 33, was critically wounded today (Tuesday, 15 October 2024), when a terrorist opened fire along the Route 4 highway north of the coastal city of Ashdod. Paramedics were quick to arrive at the scene, but he succumbed to his wounds on the way to hospital.
Four people were injured in the attack, including a doctor who stopped to help treat the wounded.
Kadosh joined the Israel Police in 2013, after completing his military service in the Border Police. He had served in the traffic division since 2022.
In a funeral ceremony attended by hundreds of mourners, including the Chief of the Israel Police, Adir was laid to rest today (Tuesday) in the Holon military cemetery. Due to get married next month, he is survived by his partner, his parents and two siblings.
