Tamir was kidnapped from the area surrounding Gaza. Among his personal belongings was found a small note on which he had written in his handwriting valuable tasks for him: "To succeed in helping many people, to create a close social circle, not to harm". On 11.15 he celebrated his 19th birthday in captivity.
