KTM Faculty - 2008-2009

Kollel Torah Mitzion has a core faculty of graduates from Hesder Yeshivot in Israel who come here to serve as teachers and role models in our community. The core of the Kollel is the Beit Midrash which features a full schedule of classes as well as a drop-in center with a warm atmosphere where all, regardless of background, feel comfortable.
Rav Yishai & Sarit Lisner, Rosh Kollel
Rav Lisner, 30, grew up in Tel Aviv and is a graduate of Ohr Etzion Hesder Yeshiva. In the army he was a paratrooper and he fought in the 2006 war with Lebanon. He received Rabbinical ordination from the Rabanut HaRashit through HaRav Chaim Druckman, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivat Ohr Etzion and head of Yeshivot Bnei Akiva. He also received a B.Ed. from Moreshet Yaakov.
Sarit Lisner, 28, received a B.Ed. degree in Special Education, specializing in communication disorders. She served her National Service in "Ulpanat Chafetz Chayim", which included private tutoring for students with academic and social difficulties. The Lisners have 3 children; Matanel, 6, Avia, 4, and Shachar, 2. This is their second year in Montreal.
Eddie Shostak, Executive Director 
Eddie Shostak, 28, is a graduate of McGill University, studied at Yeshivat Ohr Somayach of Montreal, Yeshivat Noam HaTorah in Montreal, and is currently studying towards Rabbinic ordination. He was student President of McGill Hillel and Montreal Hillel. He has been involved in Jewish education both through informal educational programs and formal teaching. Eddie also serves as Administrator for the Rabbinical Council of America—Montreal Region Conversion Beit Din. Eddie and his wife, Ahuva, have one child, Talia Ashira.
Rav David & Meytal Zviel, Avreich Family
Rav Zviel, 29, is a graduate of Yeshivat Shaalvim High school. He studied at Yeshivat Hesder Ra’anana from 2001-2006 and studied towards a Teacher’s diploma and B.Ed. in Lifshitz College, in partnership with Yeshivat Ra'anana. Rav Zviel served as a medic in the IDF and then returned to the Yeshiva where he served as its manager for two years.
Meytal Zviel, 27, Shlichat Bnei Akiva, is a graduate of Harel Ulpana in Kfar Saba. After graduating she served two years in National Service, one with an organization for Handicapped and Cancer-stricken children and one with The Institution for the Blind. Meytal also graduated as a certified nurse from Laniado Nursing School and studied towards a B.A. in Health Management in the Ariel University Center of Samaria. The Zviels have 2 children, Moriya, 6, and Elyashiv 3. This is their third year in Montreal.
Rav Ido & Shira Tauber, Avreich Family 
Rav Tauber, 26, is a graduate from Yeshivat Netiv Meir. He studied at Yeshivat Hesder Birkat Moshe in Ma’aleh Adumim for 7 years. He studied towards a Teacher’s Diploma in Lifshitz College, in partnership with Yeshivat Hesder Birkat Moshe and towards a B.Ed Degree in Moreshet Yaakov College, in partnership with Yeshivat Hesder Birkat Moshe. In the army, Rav Tauber completed a Paratrooper course followed by NCO course and he commanded a “Nachal Hareidi” troop.
Shira Tauber, 26 is a graduate of Midreshet Amaliah in Jerusalem. She then joined a "garin" of girls, who studied in Midreshet Ein Hanatziv in kibbutz Ein Hanatziv. Shira was a commander in the IDF and taught English and History to soldiers. She then studied Special and regular education in David Yellin Teachers Seminary, and worked as a tour guide for the Western Wall Tunnels. The Taubers have 2 children, Ayala, 3 and Dov, 1. This is their second year in Montreal.
Akiva Brauner, Bachur
Akiva, 23, comes from Ra'anana. He graduated from Midreshet Noam in Pardes-Hanna. After high school he joined the Hesder program at Yeshivat Har Etzion in Alon Shvut (‘The Gush'). In the army he served in the paratrooper brigade. He enjoys playing music, reading, and spending time with friends.
Matti Gottlieb, Bachur 
Matti, 22, comes from Ra'anana. He graduated from Midreshet Noam in Pardes-Hanna. After high school he joined the Hesder program at Yeshivat Shvut Israel in Efrat. In the army he served in Intelligence. He enjoys playing music, hiking, sports, and Middle East studies.
Ido Klein, Bachur
Ido, 24, comes from Haifa. He graduated from Yavneh in Haifa. After high school he joined the Hesder program at Yeshivat Har Etzion in Alon Shvut (‘The Gush'). In the army he served in the 'Nahal' brigade (infantry). He enjoys computers, philosophy, history, and sports.
