History & Mission

Kollel Torah MiTzion is a unique initiative designed to aid Jewish communities throughout the world grapple with the problems of assimilation and disunity, strengthen its Jewish young leadership and to bridge the gap between the Diaspora and the State of Israel.

The program, with its head office in Jerusalem, establishes Kollelim (centres of Jewish learning and outreach), which emphasize the eternal connection between the State of Israel and the Diaspora and between Torah study and Israel. The first Torah MiTzion programs were set up in Cleveland, Ohio and Cape Town, South Africa in 1994. The success of the pilot projects have led to the establishments of such study centres in 28 cities around the world. KTM Montreal is proud to be part of this network.

Kollel Torah MiTzion Montreal is an educational centre with a special atmosphere where all Jews can feel comfortable to pursue Jewish learning at their own pace. KTM offers special lectures, programs, classes and study partners for men, women and students of all ages and from all Jewish backgrounds.

The Kollel is housed in the Lieberman Beit Midrash of Hebrew Academy and the sounds of Torah learning reverberate day and evening as students and adults explore the sources that have sustained us for generations and have preserved our heritage.

We hope to see you soon at the Kollel...
